Annie Lennox, born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland, embarked on a successful solo career following the disbandment of Eurythmics in 1991. Lennox began her musical journey as a child, learning piano and flute before winning a scholarship to London's Royal Academy of Music. In the late '70s, she co-founded the band the Tourists with guitarist Dave Stewart, which later evolved into Eurythmics. Throughout the '80s, Eurythmics achieved international success with hits like "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "Here Comes the Rain Again."
After Eurythmics disbanded in 1990, Lennox released her solo debut album, "Diva," in 1992, followed by "Medusa" in 1995. Lennox took a hiatus to focus on humanitarian work before returning with albums like "Bare" in 2003 and "Nostalgia" in 2014. Known for her distinctive voice and socially conscious lyrics, Lennox continues to captivate audiences with her music and philanthropic efforts.
