Julión Álvarez, born in 1983, is a Mexican traditional singer, songwriter, producer, and bandleader. He gained recognition for his smooth tenor voice and romantic style. Álvarez founded Julión Álvarez y Su Norteño Banda in 2006, releasing their debut album "Corazón Mágico" in 2007. Over the years, the band achieved success with albums like "Tu Amigo Nada Mas" (2013) and "El Aferrado" (2016), earning Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations.
Álvarez began his music career by singing in local contests and bandas before forming his own group. Despite facing legal challenges in the U.S. related to alleged violations of the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act, Álvarez maintained his innocence and continued to release music. In 2022, he was cleared of all charges, celebrating with the release of "De Hoy en Adelante, Que Te Vaya Bien," which won a Latin Grammy. The band returned in 2023 with "Presente," charting on Billboard's Top Latin Albums.
